I've rarely found truth on the surface. It is usually revealed to me. Uncovering the truth requires a patient, deliberate act of peeling back layers of dogma and data that we think we know, to arrive at the core within. This painting, "The Revealing," is a meditation on this methodical process of discovery.
 
Looking back on my journey that inspired this Decoherence series (a search for understanding that began in childhood), the simple, patient act of peeling some fruit became the perfect metaphor for my entire quest. 
 
The fluid background represents the unobserved quantum universe, a "wave of probabilities." The emergent, structured geometry is framework of the reality that is revealed by the "peeling back" of this quantum veil by a conscious observer. It is a visual testament to the idea that the core truth of our reality is not a given, but something that is brought into form through our patient and persistent act of looking.
